Welcome to the THSD dance family!

Tricia Hatch School of Dance started up in Drumheller in the spring of 2009, with 2 classes, and 23 students, operating out of the Greentree school gymnasium. Over the past 10 years the studio has grown to around 100 students, 6 staff, 2 studios, and offering around 35 classes every week.

Classes offered include, Acro, Ballet, Contemporary, Hip Hop, Jazz, Lyrical, Musical Theatre, Stretch & Strength, and Tap. At THSD we offer both competitive and non-competitive classes. There is sure to be something for every dancer!

At THSD we believe that every person can dance. We strive to provide an environment where all students can be safe and comfortable to freely express themselves through movement. Technical training is key to provide dancers the ability to dance and express themselves safely. We use the CDTA (Canadian Dance Teachers Association) syllabi for jazz and tap, the RAD (Royal Academy of Dance) syllabus for ballet, and the Acrobatic Arts syllabus for Acro and Stretch.

Our teachers are always continuing their education, taking classes and courses in everything from flexiblity, injury prevention, coaching, teacher development, choreography, First Aid, goal setting, youth protection, and more. Even as an instructor, we are still always a student.
