Dress Code
Why a dress code? A dress code not only supports the safety and success of your dancer, it also teaches discipline, and promotes unity within a class, and studio wide. Wearing appropriate attire and footwear helps prevent injury, and encourages confidence. Dancers being dressed similarly helps instructors identify mistakes, which again, is key in injury prevention.
For all classes, jewelry must be removed. Small 'stud' style earrings are permitted. Students need to bring their own filled and labelled water bottle.
ACRO & STRETCH:
Tan footless or convertible tights. Black bodysuit and black dance shorts; or black athletic tank and black dance shorts. Hair in braids or ponytail. Bare feet, slip on jazz shoe or spinners.
*Students must bring their own 1-3 pound ankle weights, socks, small binder & writing utensil
BALLET:
Pink Ballet tights, black bodysuit & optional solid colored ballet skirt. Pink ballet slippers. Hair in a bun.
CONTEMPORARY & LYRICAL:
Tan, or pink footless or convertible tights, & black bodysuit. Black dance shorts or ballet skirt optional. Hair in a bun, ponytail or braids. Tan Bloch Soxx required for Competitive groups. Non-competitive groups can wear tan Bloch Soxx, tan spinners, or pink ballet slippers.
HIP HOP:
Comfortable clothing! Leggings or shorts and a tank top or t-shirt. Nothing too oversized, so we can still give proper instruction & correction. Clean indoor non-marking sneakers. Hair pulled back in braids or a ponytail.
JAZZ:
Tan, pink or black tights with a black bodysuit & black dance shorts. Slip on jazz shoe. Hair in a bun, ponytail or braids. Competitive groups 13 and under need tan jazz shoes. Senior competitive jazz dancers will be determined with costuming. Non-competitive dancers, tan shoes preferred, but if you already have black, please use what you have!
TAP:
Tan, pink or black tights with a black bodysuit & black dance shorts. Black tap shoes (any style). Hair in a bun, ponytail or braids.
